ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a technique called ultrasound-guided PECS block to see if it can help reduce the need for strong pain medications (opioids) and improve pain control and patient satisfaction after breast cancer surgery. Specifically, the trial focuses on women who are scheduled to have a modified radical mastectomy, a type of surgery that can cause significant pain and limit shoulder movement. The goal is to find out if this pain management method can make the recovery process easier for patients.
To participate in the trial, women between the ages of 18 and 65 who are undergoing this specific surgery may be eligible, provided they have a good overall health status. However, those with certain conditions, like allergies to local anesthetics or specific medical issues, won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to receive the PECS block during your surgery, which may help manage your pain better after the procedure. The trial is currently looking for participants, and it aims to enhance the support and care women receive following their surgery.
