ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a new program called the Social Legs Program (SLP) can help patients with venous leg ulcers (VLUs) heal better and follow their treatment plans more closely. Venous leg ulcers are slow-healing sores that can be very difficult to manage and often come back after treatment. The SLP aims to provide social and educational support to patients as they move from hospital or outpatient care back to managing their care at home. By participating in this study, researchers hope to learn how this program affects wound healing and the likelihood of ulcers returning.
To be eligible for this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosed open venous leg ulcer that is smaller than 2 square centimeters or have a healed ulcer. You also need to be comfortable speaking French. The study will involve around 268 participants from three institutions in Switzerland. If you join, you can expect to receive support through the SLP and help researchers understand how such programs can improve care for people with venous leg ulcers. This study will play an important role in shaping future treatment guidelines for managing this condition.
