ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a condition called thoracic aortic aneurysm, which is an enlargement of the ascending aorta, the large blood vessel that carries blood from the heart. The trial aims to find out when surgery is needed for patients who have a borderline-sized aorta (between 45 to 55 mm) and may have either tricuspid or bicuspid aortic valves. By doing this, researchers hope to improve treatment decisions for these patients.

To be eligible for the study, participants need to be between 45 and 75 years old and have an ascending aorta that is either less than 55 mm or more than 45 mm in size. Patients with severe health issues or certain cancers are not able to join the trial. Those who participate can expect to undergo evaluations to determine their specific condition and treatment needs. This study is currently recruiting participants, and involvement may lead to better insights on managing this condition in the future.
