ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective a special electronic tool can be in identifying sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among young people. The researchers want to compare the rate of STI detection when using this tool, which is based on a sexual health survey, to the usual care that patients receive, which may not include this tool. They believe that using this electronic support will help find more cases of STIs, particularly among different groups of young people based on their sexual risk and background.
To take part in this study, you would need to be between 15 and 21 years old and seeking care in an emergency department. Unfortunately, if you are unable to understand English, are critically ill, or have difficulties in understanding or giving consent, you wouldn’t be eligible for this trial. If you join, you can expect to complete a sexual health survey and undergo screening for STIs, which will help researchers learn more about how to better support adolescents in managing their sexual health.
