ClinConnect Summary
This study, called Internet-delivered Group Counseling for Chronic Tinnitus, is an observational, prospective study to see if online psycho-educational group counseling can help adults with chronic, subjective tinnitus. Participants will receive online counseling sessions and researchers will measure changes in tinnitus severity (using the Tinnitus Functional Index, 0–100), tinnitus loudness (a 0–100 scale), anxiety/depression symptoms (HADS), and sensitivity to sounds (HQ) from before treatment to about 3 months after.
Eligibility is for adults 18 and older with subjective chronic tinnitus who are not enrolled in other tinnitus treatments at the same time. About 150 participants are planned. The counseling is delivered online by University Hospital Antwerp in Belgium. The study is not randomized and enrolls by invitation; participants will complete brief questionnaires at baseline and around 3 months. The trial aims to determine whether internet-delivered counseling can be as helpful as traditional face-to-face care, with completion expected around the end of 2025.
