ClinConnect Summary
The COVID-19 Pandemic Impact on Alcohol (PIA) study is looking at how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected people's drinking habits and any related problems, especially regarding mental health and stress. Researchers want to understand how these changes may continue to impact individuals over time. If you're between the ages of 18 and 65 and have previously participated in a screening program for alcohol use, you might be eligible to join this study.
As a participant, you will start by answering questions over the phone about your drinking habits and stress levels from the year before the pandemic and during it. You will then complete online surveys for two years, starting with weekly surveys for the first month, then biweekly for the next couple of months, and eventually every few months. These surveys will ask about your alcohol use, stress, physical health, sleep, and overall quality of life. This study is a chance to share your experiences and help researchers understand the broader effects of the pandemic on alcohol use and mental health.
