ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "IMPACT of Donor Heart Function on Recipient Outcomes," is studying how the condition of donor hearts affects the health of patients receiving heart transplants. Many potential donor hearts are currently not used because they show some signs of weakness, but research suggests that these issues might improve after the heart is transplanted. The goal of this study is to find out if donor hearts with some functional impairment are still safe and effective for transplant, which could help more patients receive the life-saving treatment they need.
To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and already accepted for a heart transplant at one of the participating centers. You’ll be asked to provide written consent to join the trial. If you join, researchers will carry out thorough assessments of the donor hearts to determine which ones are suitable for transplantation. This could lead to more hearts being available for patients like you, ultimately improving heart transplant outcomes.
