ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method called shear wave elastography to help doctors distinguish between acute and chronic kidney disease in patients who come to the emergency department. Chronic kidney disease is a serious health issue that can lead to complications if not diagnosed early. The goal of this study is to improve the accuracy of kidney disease diagnosis, especially when traditional tests may not be feasible due to patient conditions or previous medical records.
To participate in this trial, you must be over 20 years old and need a kidney ultrasound at the National Taiwan University Hospital's emergency department. If you agree to participate, the study will involve using shear wave elastography alongside regular kidney ultrasound to see if this combination can provide better information for diagnosing your condition. It's important to know that if you are unable to follow directions or do not agree to participate, you won't be eligible for this trial.
