ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to treat patients with a condition called anterior open bite (AOB), where the front teeth do not touch when the mouth is closed. The trial will compare two different methods of treatment using orthodontic braces. One method uses a special device placed in the mouth (called a Temporary Anchorage Device or TAD) in the roof of the mouth, while the other method uses two TADs placed on the sides of the mouth. The goal is to see which method is more effective for moving the back teeth down and improving the bite.

To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 12 and 40 years old and have a mild to moderate open bite of 1-6mm. They should also be ready to start treatment with fixed braces. However, individuals who have had certain dental surgeries, specific birth defects, bone diseases, or other factors like pregnancy or active thumb sucking will not be able to participate. Those who join the trial can expect to receive standard orthodontic treatment while helping researchers understand which method works best for correcting their bite.
