ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two medications, Bupivacaine and Lidocaine, to see which one works better for managing pain after thyroid surgery. If you or a loved one has thyroid disease and is scheduled for surgery, you might be eligible to participate in this study. To qualify, participants should have certain types of thyroid tumors and be undergoing a specific type of surgery that involves a midline neck incision. They also need to be able to stay in the hospital for at least 12 hours after the surgery.

If you join the trial, you can expect to receive either Bupivacaine or Lidocaine after your surgery to help reduce pain. The study is currently recruiting participants aged 18 to 90, regardless of gender. However, there are some health conditions that would exclude someone from participating, such as certain types of thyroid cancer or a history of significant health issues like diabetes or liver problems. Overall, this trial aims to find the best way to keep patients comfortable after thyroid surgery, which is an important part of the recovery process.
