ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Endo-Band study, is exploring a new method for weight loss using a technique called endoscopic band ligation. This involves placing bands inside the stomach to help people feel fuller and eat less. The procedure is done with the help of a flexible tube equipped with a camera, and it usually takes about 30 minutes. Participants will receive medication to help them relax during the process.
To be eligible for this trial, individuals should have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 27, which generally means they are considered overweight. However, certain health conditions, such as issues that prevent safe endoscopy or active stomach bleeding, will exclude someone from participating. The trial is currently looking for participants of all genders, aged between 65 and 74, who want to explore this new approach to managing obesity.
