ClinConnect Summary
The VIRTUE trial is a research study designed to explore how using virtual reality (VR) can help children with celiac disease learn more about following a gluten-free diet. The study aims to see if this VR approach is better than traditional education methods in teaching kids about their diet and improving their quality of life. It will also look at how well the VR program affects their symptoms and certain blood tests that show how well their body is managing celiac disease.
To be eligible for this trial, children aged 8 to 18 who have been diagnosed with celiac disease according to accepted guidelines can participate. However, those with significant developmental delays will not be included. Participants can expect to use virtual reality technology to engage with learning materials, and the researchers will follow up with them to see how much they learn and how their health improves over time. This study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available soon for interested families.
