ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) for patients with a condition known as chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), which makes it hard for blood to flow through the lungs. The goal of the study is to find better ways to measure how well the heart is functioning during the treatment. Researchers will use special tools to check pressure and volume in the heart and collect blood samples to look for specific markers that show heart improvement. This information will help them understand how effective BPA is and could lead to better assessments for future patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be over 18 years old, able to give consent, and have a form of CTEPH that cannot be treated with surgery. However, those with serious other health problems, women who can become pregnant, or certain heart and lung conditions won't be able to join. If you participate, you can expect to have various measurements taken during the BPA procedure, which will help the researchers gather important data to improve treatment for others in the future.
