ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new type of MRI scan specifically designed for the heart, known as cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The goal is to test a special device that will help doctors get clearer images of the heart, especially for patients who have experienced a heart attack (myocardial infarction). The study is currently looking for participants, including healthy volunteers and patients with a history of heart attacks, to see how well this new technology works in real-life situations.
To take part in this study, participants must be willing to give their consent and meet certain criteria. This includes being healthy or having a diagnosed history of a heart attack. However, some individuals may not be eligible, such as those who feel uncomfortable in tight spaces (claustrophobia), are pregnant, or have certain medical conditions that might interfere with the MRI process. Participants can expect to undergo MRI scans in a safe environment where their comfort and health will be a priority. This study could lead to better heart imaging techniques, which may improve patient care in the future.

Eligibility criteria
- Inclusion Criteria:
- • Participant who is willing and able to give informed consent for participation in the study
- • Healthy volunteers willing to give informed consent for participation in the study
- • Patients diagnosed with a previous myocardial infarction
- Exclusion Criteria:
- • Unwillingness to participate
- • Claustrophobia
- • Contraindication to MRI scanning such as implantable cardiac devices
- • Participants who have had a previous myocardial infarction in the past of which they may not be aware and this is discovered whilst being scanned on the 3T MRI scanner, or who may have any other cardiology condition that they were previously unaware will not be included in the healthy control group, even if they present themselves to us as "healthy" at the time of the study visit
- • Pregnancy
- • Body habitus that may preclude comfortable positioning of the volunteer in either of the MRI scanners (\>50cm in diameter)
- • Participants with abnormal kidney function that will preclude them from receiving a contrast agent
