ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a special program called prehabilitation for elderly patients who are scheduled to have major surgery. Prehabilitation is a way to help patients get stronger and healthier before their surgery, which can lead to fewer complications and better recovery afterwards. The study is focusing on older adults who may have some health challenges and will involve teamwork from different medical specialists to provide the best care possible.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an older adult (75 years or older) who has some existing health conditions that make you frail, and you should be scheduled for a major surgery like heart, lung, or joint surgery. You will need to give your written consent to join, and you should be able to participate in some form of exercise. However, if you have mobility issues, certain serious health conditions, or cognitive disabilities, you may not be eligible. Participants can expect to receive support and guidance to help prepare for their surgery, making it a unique opportunity to improve their health and recovery.
