ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on finding a new and easier way to diagnose upper digestive tract cancer (UDC), which includes cancers of the mouth, throat, and stomach. Many patients are diagnosed too late, which makes treatment harder and survival rates lower. The researchers want to use a simple breath test, along with saliva and urine samples, to detect specific substances (called volatile organic compounds or VOCs) that could indicate the presence of UDC. The hope is that this non-invasive test will help identify cancer earlier, allowing for more effective treatment and better outcomes for patients.

To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 90 years old and should be undergoing certain medical procedures related to digestive health, such as an endoscopy or surgery. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and if you join, you can expect to provide breath, saliva, and urine samples without any pain. This study aims to show that this method is not only possible but also beneficial, potentially bringing this easy testing approach into standard medical practice for better early detection of UDC.
