ClinConnect Summary
The French Observatory of ElectroConvulsive Therapy (ECT) is a clinical trial aimed at improving the understanding and use of ECT, a treatment that has been used since the 1930s primarily for severe depression that hasn't responded to other treatments. This study seeks to identify how ECT is currently being administered in France and to develop research that can enhance its effectiveness for various mental health conditions. Although ECT can be very helpful, it may also come with side effects, and there hasn't been a comprehensive update on treatment guidelines since 1997.
If you are a patient who has been referred for ECT, you may be eligible to participate in this trial, as it is open to individuals of all ages and genders. Participants can expect to have their experiences with ECT documented and analyzed to improve future care recommendations. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could help shape better treatment options for others facing similar challenges.
