ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how to improve follow-up care for patients who have had bariatric surgery, which helps with obesity. Many patients don’t continue with their follow-up appointments after surgery, which can be important for their health. The study will compare traditional in-person follow-up visits to virtual follow-ups using video calls and online check-ins. The goal is to see if the virtual method can provide the same quality of care while being more convenient and less expensive, especially for those living far from the hospital.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults who had bariatric surgery at least three months ago and live more than 50 kilometers away from Toulouse. They should also be able to use the internet for virtual appointments. Participants will receive regular check-ins through video calls, allowing them to discuss their progress and any concerns with healthcare providers from the comfort of their homes. It’s important to note that individuals with certain complications or those who are unable to give consent cannot participate.
