ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different teams respond to emergencies in the hospital. Specifically, it compares two types of Rapid Response Teams (RRT). One team, called the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT), includes an ICU nurse and a general ward doctor and nurse. The other, known as the Medical Emergency Team (MET), consists of an ICU doctor and nurse along with a general ward doctor and nurse. The goal is to find out if the CCOT is just as effective as the MET in helping patients who need urgent care.
To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old, currently admitted to a general ward in the hospital, and in need of immediate attention from a Rapid Response Team. However, if you're under 18, admitted to certain specialized areas like the ICU or operating theater, or not admitted when help is needed, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you’ll be randomly assigned to one of the two teams, and researchers will track how well each team helps patients. This study is important because it could improve how hospitals respond to emergencies and ensure patients get the best care possible.
