ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how COVID-19 can lead to serious blood clotting problems, known as thromboembolic complications. These complications can include conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs), heart attacks, and strokes. Researchers want to learn more about how often these issues occur in people with COVID-19, what might increase the risk of these complications, and how they are being managed. To do this, they will analyze health records from a large group of patients, including both those treated in hospitals and those managed at home.
To be eligible for the study, participants must have a positive COVID-19 test and be receiving treatment for the infection, whether they are in the hospital or at home. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders, aged 65 and older. Those who join will help provide valuable information that could improve the understanding and management of blood clotting problems related to COVID-19, potentially leading to better care for future patients.
