ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new rehabilitation system that combines a robot with a method called functional electrical stimulation (FES) to help stroke survivors recover their movement abilities. The goal is to see if this hybrid approach can improve movement, reduce stiffness in the joints, and help strengthen the muscles in the legs. The researchers are particularly interested in making this treatment available for use at home, allowing patients to continue their recovery outside of a clinical setting.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 85 years old and able to walk at least 10 meters, either on your own or with a device like a walker. You should also be at least six months post-stroke and have a caregiver who can help you with the training at home. However, if you have certain conditions, like severe pain in your leg or difficulty following instructions, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to use either the robot alone or with FES to help improve your walking and movement skills. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could contribute to new ways of helping stroke survivors regain their mobility.
