ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a special online platform can help patients who are preparing for thyroid surgery. The platform includes a video that explains the surgery and provides detailed information about what to expect. Researchers believe that having this easy access to information can help reduce anxiety for patients before their procedure.
To participate in the study, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 75 and be scheduled for either a lobo-isthmectomy (a type of surgery that removes part of the thyroid) or a total thyroidectomy (which removes the entire thyroid). You should also be able to understand and complete some questionnaires. Unfortunately, if you have trouble understanding French or don’t have internet access, you won’t be able to take part. If you join, you’ll have the chance to use the online platform for the duration of the study, which may help you feel more comfortable and informed about your surgery.
