ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to predict recovery of movement in the arm after a stroke. Understanding how well a person might recover is important for informing them and their families about their options for care, such as whether they might go home or need rehabilitation. The trial will test a new prediction tool called "PREP-UCV," which builds on an existing tool that has successfully predicted recovery for about 75% of patients. The study aims to confirm this tool’s accuracy by looking at factors like age and specific medical scores to see how well it can predict recovery for patients within three months of having a stroke.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have been admitted to the stroke unit at Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital with arm movement difficulties due to a stroke. Participants will undergo some assessments, including MRI scans and other tests, to help researchers gather the necessary information. The goal is to improve understanding of stroke recovery and tailor rehabilitation programs to better meet patients' needs. If you or someone you know fits these criteria and is interested in participating, this study could provide valuable insights into post-stroke recovery.
