ClinConnect Summary
The ATENTO trial is studying whether a special program that includes therapeutic exercise and techniques to activate the vagus nerve can help prevent nerve damage in women who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. This nerve damage, known as neurotoxicity, can occur during cancer treatments. The goal is to see if this program can lead to better health outcomes for patients while they are undergoing treatment.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old, have a diagnosis of breast cancer (Stage I-III), and be waiting for additional cancer treatment that could risk causing nerve damage. They should also be in good health and have permission from their doctor to take part. Participants can expect to engage in the exercise program and be monitored for any effects on their health. It's important to note that those with a history of other cancers, pregnancy, or certain neurological diseases won't be able to join the study. This trial is actively recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity to contribute to important research that may help improve the care of breast cancer patients.
