ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the COaching Lifestyle Intervention for FErtility, is looking at how lifestyle changes can help couples who are struggling with infertility. Overweight and obesity can negatively affect fertility in both women and men, making it harder to conceive. In this study, 780 couples will be divided into two groups: one will receive standard infertility treatments, while the other will participate in a lifestyle intervention program. This program includes four video sessions aimed at motivating them to make healthier choices, along with measurements to track their progress and blood tests to gather important health information.
To be eligible for this trial, couples must be experiencing infertility and have a body mass index (BMI) between 27 and 34.9, which means they are overweight but not severely obese. However, if someone has significant fertility issues like sperm defects or blockages in the reproductive system, they will not be able to participate. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to evaluate the effectiveness of lifestyle changes on fertility, as well as the cost-effectiveness of the intervention. Overall, this trial could provide valuable insights into how lifestyle modifications can support couples on their journey to parenthood.
