ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new program designed to help adults with chronic pain who are also drinking alcohol in a risky way and using prescription opioids. The goal is to provide personalized feedback that helps people understand how their alcohol and opioid use may affect their pain management and overall health. By participating, individuals will learn about the potential dangers of mixing these substances and receive support to reduce their hazardous drinking.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 21 years old, currently drink alcohol in a risky way, experience chronic pain, and be using prescription opioids. Those who are currently in treatment for alcohol or substance use, are not fluent in English, or are experiencing severe mental health issues will not be included. Participants can expect to take part in a brief, computer-based session that will provide tailored information and support. This research aims to develop effective strategies for managing pain while reducing the risks associated with alcohol and opioid use, benefiting many individuals facing these challenges.
