Excessive Supraventricular Ectopic Activity

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking to understand if people who experience excessive supraventricular activity (a type of irregular heart rhythm) should undergo longer monitoring to check for undiagnosed conditions like atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. These conditions can lead to serious issues, including strokes. Researchers will also examine other tests, such as blood tests and heart scans, to see how they relate to heart health in participants with this excessive activity compared to those without it.

To join the study, participants need to be between the ages of 25 and 89 and must have recorded at least 30 extra heartbeats per hour (called supraventricular extra systoles) on a Holter monitor, which is a device that tracks heart rhythms over time. Those with certain heart conditions or who are already on specific medications may not be eligible. If you participate, you can expect to undergo additional monitoring and testing to help researchers learn more about these heart rhythm issues and their effects on overall heart health.
