ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better inform heavy smokers about lung cancer screening. The goal is to find the most effective ways to refer people who call quitlines—telephone services that help people stop smoking—to information about getting screened for lung cancer. This is important because early detection of lung cancer can lead to better treatment outcomes.
To participate in this study, you need to be a caller to the quitline who is between 55 and 80 years old, currently smoking or a former smoker who quit less than 15 years ago, and have a significant smoking history (at least 30 pack-years, which means smoking one pack a day for 30 years). You should also be comfortable speaking English. If you have a history of lung cancer, you won't be eligible for this trial. If you participate, you can expect to be involved in discussions that help improve the way smokers receive information about lung cancer screening. The study is currently recruiting participants, so there’s an opportunity to contribute to this important research.
