ClinConnect Summary

The Faroese Knee Cohort study is focused on understanding knee problems, specifically looking at two main groups: those with patellar instability (which means their kneecap moves out of place) and those who have experienced knee injuries like ACL tears or meniscus damage. The researchers want to find out how common these issues are among young people aged 15-20 in the Faroe Islands, explore any genetic factors that might contribute to these conditions, and see how these knee problems affect people's lives and activities over time.

To participate in this study, you need to be between 15-20 years old, feel that your kneecap is unstable, or have had a previous knee injury. If you are under 18, your parents will need to give their permission. Participants can expect to help researchers learn more about these knee conditions and their long-term effects, which might improve care and treatment for others in the future. This study is currently looking for participants, and it aims to gather important information that could lead to better understanding and management of knee issues in young people.
