ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a condition called writer's cramp, which makes it hard to write due to involuntary muscle contractions. The trial will explore how effective a 12-month training program is in helping patients manage this condition. Participants will take part in one of two training programs: one focusing on sensorimotor skills and the other on awareness training. Both programs will include video supervision to help patients practice from anywhere. Researchers will measure the success of the treatments using a special questionnaire and various assessments of writing ability and brain activity.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be right-handed and diagnosed with writer's cramp. They should also be able to join video calls. People with other neurological or psychiatric conditions, left-handed individuals, and those who have recently received certain treatments will not be included. Overall, this study is considered low-risk, with minimal side effects expected from the training, and the MRI scans used to study brain activity are similar to standard MRI procedures.
