ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of kidney cancers, including various forms of renal cell carcinoma and urothelial carcinoma, use nutrients from the body to grow. Researchers want to learn more about how these tumors metabolize (or process) nutrients like glucose and glutamine, which come from the foods we eat. To do this, participants will receive a special nutrient tracer through an IV during their surgery or biopsy. This will help the team monitor how the tumors use these nutrients, and they will also collect tissue samples from the tumors for analysis.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be 18 years or older and have imaging that shows they have kidney or urothelial cancer that needs surgery or a biopsy. It’s important to note that participating in this study won’t change the standard treatment patients receive; everyone will continue to get the usual care as determined by their doctors. The trial is currently recruiting patients, and those interested might want to discuss it with their healthcare provider to see if it’s a good fit for them.
