ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called ATTR aortic valve amyloidosis in patients who need surgery to replace their aortic valve due to a problem called degenerative aortic stenosis. Amyloidosis occurs when abnormal proteins build up in the heart, which can lead to serious health issues. The researchers want to find out how common this specific type of amyloidosis is in these patients by using advanced testing methods.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old and scheduled for aortic valve replacement surgery due to degenerative aortic stenosis. Unfortunately, people with other types of aortic stenosis or who are pregnant cannot join. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to sign a consent form, and you can expect to undergo some tests to help researchers gather information about the presence of amyloidosis in your heart. This study aims to better understand the relationship between aortic valve disease and amyloidosis, which could improve future patient care.
