ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "VIsual Cerebral ConnecTivity On Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Patients With Hereditary REtinal Dystrophies," is studying how brain networks related to vision function in people with hereditary retinal dystrophies are affected. Essentially, the researchers want to understand how conditions that impact vision also influence the way the brain processes visual information. The study involves around 300 patients who regularly visit a hospital for eye care, and it aims to make it easier for them by scheduling an MRI (a type of brain scan) on the same day as their eye appointment.
To participate, you need to be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with a hereditary retinal condition. You should also not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain other health issues that might prevent you from undergoing an MRI. If you agree to join, you'll be asked to sign a consent form after receiving detailed information about the study. The goal is to gather valuable insights while minimizing extra trips for you. If you're interested or have questions, the hospital will provide more information during your next visit.
