ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how personalized education and counseling might help people living with chronic pancreatitis—a long-term condition that causes ongoing pain in the pancreas. Many patients with this condition continue to have pain even after treatments like medications or surgery. Researchers have found that this pain is often linked to feelings of depression and changes in how certain parts of the brain work. The study will see if explaining the disease and what to expect in a way tailored to each patient can improve their mood, quality of life, and pain levels.
To take part, individuals need to be between 18 and 60 years old, have had chronic pancreatitis for at least three years, and experienced at least three episodes of abdominal pain in the past three months. Participants will receive counseling that helps them better understand their condition based on their own health history and test results. The study will compare these patients to others who do not receive this personalized education to see if there is a real benefit. This approach aims to help patients cope better and potentially feel less pain alongside their usual treatments.
