ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new method of delivering palliative radiotherapy, which is a type of treatment aimed at relieving pain and improving the quality of life for patients with advanced cancer. The researchers want to see if a more intense single dose of radiation can provide longer-lasting benefits compared to the standard single dose treatment. This is important because many patients with metastatic cancer experience significant pain and other symptoms, and effective treatment can make a big difference in their comfort and well-being.
To be eligible for this trial, patients must have metastatic cancer and be recommended for a specific type of radiation therapy known as 8Gy/1# palliative radiation. Patients with spinal cord compression can also participate. However, individuals who cannot give informed consent or are recommended for multiple doses of radiation are not eligible. If you or a loved one qualifies, participating in this trial might provide access to a potentially beneficial treatment option while contributing to important research.
