ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how 3D printing can help plan and simulate a specific type of eye surgery called orbital decompression surgery. This surgery is often needed for people with a condition known as thyroid-associated orbitopathy, which can cause swelling and pressure behind the eyes. The researchers want to see if using 3D printed models can improve the safety and effectiveness of the surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and have a diagnosis of inactive thyroid-associated orbitopathy that requires surgery. You should also be able to read and agree to take part by signing a consent form. Unfortunately, if you have had previous eye surgery or other health issues that could interfere with follow-up care, you won’t be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to be part of a process that may help improve surgical outcomes for future patients with similar conditions.
