ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how often women develop intrauterine adhesions, which are bands of scar tissue in the uterus, after having a procedure called instrumental revision of the uterine cavity (RCUI) following a second-trimester abortion. The trial will compare two groups of women: one group will have the standard RCUI procedure, while the other group will receive an additional treatment with a special gel designed to prevent adhesions. Researchers want to see if this gel can help reduce the occurrence of these adhesions, which can affect future pregnancies.
To participate, women must be between 18 and 40 years old and have had a miscarriage in the second trimester that requires this procedure. They will need to sign an informed consent form to join. After the procedure, participants will have follow-up appointments 8 to 12 weeks later for an ultrasound and possibly another examination to check for adhesions. Additionally, they will fill out a questionnaire about their menstrual cycles. This study aims to improve future pregnancy chances for women who have experienced this kind of loss.
