ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "Infection Tracking in Travellers," aims to better understand travel-related illnesses, such as malaria and dengue, by studying how different factors like age, gender, and travel purpose can influence the risk of these infections. The researchers believe that some infections may lead to long-term health issues after returning home. To gather valuable information, they will collect health data from up to 10,000 travelers from Switzerland and Europe, starting with a smaller pilot study of 50 participants.

To participate, you need to be an adult over 18 years old, traveling across international borders for more than 2 days but less than 8 weeks. If you join the study, you will download a mobile app called ITIT, which will help you track any symptoms you experience while traveling through daily questionnaires. The app will also gather information about your location and environmental conditions. This trial will provide real-time insights into travel-related infections, helping to identify outbreaks and understand how different types of travelers are affected. If you fit the criteria, your participation could contribute to important findings about travel health!
