ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) to see if it can help people with dry eye disease, specifically those with meibomian gland dysfunction. Dry eye disease can cause discomfort and vision problems, and this trial aims to find out if this new treatment can improve symptoms. The study is taking place at Beijing Tongren Hospital and is currently looking for participants between the ages of 18 and 75 who have been diagnosed with dry eye disease.
Participants in the trial will complete questionnaires and undergo some tests at the beginning of the study and again at one, three, and six months later to measure the effectiveness of the treatment. It's important to note that individuals with certain health conditions, such as depression, diabetes, or those who have had eye surgery, are not eligible to participate.
