ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called transcranial direct current stimulation, which involves sending a small electrical current to the brain. Researchers want to see if this technique, combined with aerobic exercises, can help people with systemic autoimmune myopathies—a group of diseases that affect the muscles and cause weakness. This is the first study to look at this treatment for these specific muscle conditions, and it aims to determine if it is both safe and effective.
To participate in this trial, you need to meet certain criteria, such as being diagnosed with systemic autoimmune myopathy according to specific guidelines. You cannot have certain health issues like cancer, a heart pacemaker, or a history of seizures. If you qualify and join the study, you will take part in regular sessions of this brain stimulation alongside exercise. The study is currently recruiting participants of all genders, aged between 18 and 75. This is a great opportunity to help researchers learn more about potential new treatments for these muscle diseases.
