ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how changes in gut bacteria, specifically through a procedure called fecal microbiota transplant (FMT), might help people who have lost weight to keep it off and avoid regaining it. Weight regain, often called "yo-yo dieting," is a common problem where people who lose weight end up gaining it back, which can lead to serious health issues like heart disease. The researchers want to see if giving participants stool from healthy donors can help restore the balance of their gut bacteria and support long-term weight management.

To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have a body mass index (BMI) between 28 and 35, which indicates overweight to moderately obese. You should also be comfortable using a smartphone app, as it will be part of the study process. However, certain conditions, like having a chronic illness or recent weight loss attempts, may make you ineligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive guidance and support as you undergo the treatment, but the study is not yet recruiting participants, so you will need to wait for it to start.
