ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to use 3D ultrasound imaging during a treatment called brachytherapy for women with gynecological cancers, such as cervical, endometrial, or vaginal cancer. Brachytherapy involves placing small radiation sources directly inside or near the tumor to deliver targeted radiation while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. The trial aims to improve how doctors guide the needles used in this procedure, making it safer and more effective by using real-time images to avoid accidentally inserting needles into nearby organs.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be women aged 18 or older who have locally advanced or recurrent gynecological cancers and are being considered for interstitial or ring and tandem brachytherapy. Women not offered this type of treatment will not be included in the study. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo the brachytherapy procedure with the added benefit of 3D ultrasound imaging, which could help ensure better treatment outcomes. The study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could contribute to advancements in cancer treatment for many women in the future.
