ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how swallowing and laryngeal (throat) function are affected in patients with certain neurological conditions, specifically Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Parkinson's Disease (PD), and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Researchers will observe and record the results of routine throat examinations and specific swallowing difficulties in participants. They will also use a special method called fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) to closely examine how patients swallow while performing certain tasks. In addition, participants will fill out questionnaires to share how their swallowing challenges impact their daily lives.
To be eligible for this study, participants must have a confirmed diagnosis of MSA, PSP, or Parkinson's Disease and fall within specific stages of their conditions. Potential participants should also be willing to sign a consent form and not have any medical reasons that would prevent them from undergoing the swallowing examination. This research does not involve any new treatments or medications; instead, it focuses on gathering important information that could help improve care for patients with these conditions.
