ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying tinnitus, a condition that causes ringing or buzzing in the ears, particularly in patients who have had surgery for drug-resistant temporal lobe epilepsy. Researchers want to understand how tinnitus affects cognitive abilities, emotions, and brain functions. They will compare patients with tinnitus—either those who have had surgery or those who have not—to groups of people who do not have tinnitus. This research aims to uncover new insights into what causes tinnitus and how it impacts daily life.

To participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old, understand French, and have normal or corrected vision. There are specific groups for participants: those experiencing chronic tinnitus for more than three months and those who have had surgery for epilepsy in the temporal lobe. Those without tinnitus or who have not had related surgery can also join. Participants can expect to undergo assessments that will help researchers learn more about the effects of tinnitus. It's important to note that people with severe hearing loss or certain medical conditions may not be eligible.
