ClinConnect Summary

The "Hens Hatching Hope" trial is studying a program designed to help young children in rural areas of Intibucá, Honduras, who are facing malnutrition. The program will provide mothers of healthy children aged 6 to 24 months with vouchers to obtain eggs for 30 days. Eggs are a nutritious food that can help support the growth and development of young children, and this trial aims to see if providing these vouchers can make a difference in their health.

To be eligible for this study, children must be healthy, between 6 and 24 months old, and living in Intibucá. Children with certain health issues, like cerebral palsy or birth defects that affect growth, as well as those with an egg allergy, cannot participate. Families planning to leave the area within the next year are also excluded. Participants will receive support in accessing the eggs and will be part of a program focused on improving nutrition for their young children. This trial is currently looking for families to join, and it hopes to gather valuable information that could help address child malnutrition in the community.
