ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new device called a miniaturized ultrasound needle transducer, which is designed to help doctors perform regional anesthesia more effectively during thoracic surgeries. Regional anesthesia is a technique that numbs a specific area of the body to help manage pain, especially after surgeries. The goal of this study is to see how well this ultrasound device can guide doctors in delivering anesthesia to patients undergoing elective surgeries, such as thoracic, upper abdominal, or breast surgeries.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be scheduled for one of these elective surgeries and meet certain health criteria. For example, those with bleeding disorders, skin infections at the injection site, or certain cognitive issues may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive the usual care during your surgery, but your doctor will also use the ultrasound device to help with the anesthesia process. This research could help improve pain management techniques for patients in the future.
