ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the occurrence of infections at the site where a catheter is placed for peritoneal dialysis, a treatment for patients with end-stage kidney disease. The goal is to better understand how often these infections happen and to evaluate a scoring system that might help identify them more clearly. Researchers want to gather more data to improve infection prevention strategies and ensure better care for patients using peritoneal dialysis.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 80 years old and have end-stage renal disease, meaning their kidneys are no longer functioning properly and they are starting treatment with peritoneal dialysis. Participants will need to sign an informed consent form and be covered by French social security. Those who are pregnant, unable to cooperate with the study, or have certain legal or health issues may not be eligible. If you join this trial, you can expect to help researchers learn more about managing and preventing infections, which could lead to better treatment options in the future.
