ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Retina is a Marker for Cerebrovascular Health," is studying a condition called cerebral small vessel disease (SVD), which affects many older adults and can lead to serious problems like strokes and dementia. The researchers want to find out if changes in the blood flow in the brain and in the eyes can help track how SVD progresses. They are also testing a medication called cilostazol, which is usually used to prevent blood clots, to see if it can help treat SVD.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with certain types of SVD. Healthy individuals who are similar in age to the patients may also be included as controls. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo tests that may include MRI scans, and you'll be monitored for safety and any effects of the medication. It's important to know that this trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to help improve understanding and treatment of SVD in the future.
