ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called small fiber neuropathy, which affects many people around the world. This condition can cause painful burning sensations and other symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, and issues with sweating. One of the challenges with diagnosing small fiber neuropathy is that it often requires specialized tests that can be hard to access. In this trial, researchers are using pictures of the skin and advanced computer techniques to help identify signs of nerve damage more easily. This could make it easier for more people to get diagnosed.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and must agree to take part by signing a consent form. They should also have undergone specific autonomic testing along with skin biopsies. However, people with significant hair on their legs, certain skin conditions, or those who use skin lotions may not be eligible. Participants can expect to provide some skin pictures and contribute to research that may help improve the diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy, ultimately benefiting many patients facing this condition.
