ClinConnect Summary
The Quebec Low Back Pain Study is a research project aimed at understanding the factors that contribute to ongoing back pain, which is a leading cause of disability worldwide. Many treatments for back pain are not very effective or can have unwanted side effects, and this study seeks to find better ways to help people manage their pain. Researchers will recruit individuals experiencing both short-term (acute) and long-term (chronic) low back pain across Quebec. Participants will be followed for two years using an online platform, and various studies will look into different aspects such as genetics, diet, and exercise to see how these factors affect back pain.
To join the study, you need to be at least 18 years old, have internet access, and be fluent in either English or French. You should also have experienced back pain in the last month that was serious enough to disrupt your daily activities. Importantly, there are no specific exclusions, so many people can potentially participate. If you decide to take part, you’ll help researchers gain valuable insights that could lead to better treatments and prevention strategies for back pain in the future.
